$33.00
Children who understand and can regulate their emotions tend to make stronger friendships, develop empathy and have more resilience.
Presenter: Sarah Piper – Registered Psychologist
Children who understand and can regulate their emotions tend to make stronger friendships, develop empathy and have more resilience. When a child becomes overly emotional, it can be hard to understand the intensity and also how to handle it effectively.
This seminar will be most appropriate for parents and teachers of 4 – 8 year olds and will help you:
- understand why children and adults are different in how they experience strong emotions
- reflect on your own self-regulation
- learn how to give children a “feeling” language
- practice some simple steps in Emotional Coaching
- and help children to problem solve.
Sarah is also a mother of four children, with a keen interest in the healthy development and resilience of children and families. She is also a Licensed Trainer of the model of The Resilience Doughnut and has extensive experience in a number of human services fields, including school counselling. Sarah loves to work with parents in their specific situations.
