Why The Resilience Doughnut?

A research validated model of resilience

The Resilience Doughnut empowers individuals of all ages to identify and integrate their strengths, fostering the development of resilience. By emphasising positive attributes and encouraging effective strategies, it facilitates personal growth and sustainable adaptation, benefiting individuals, families, communities and organisations alike.

our Model of resilience

Why the The Resilience Doughnut?

Resilience is not a trait in a personality that we are (or are not) born with. It is a process that we are able to learn and develop. Just like the factors in a person’s life that influence their development, there are factors in a person’s life that build their resilience. ‘The Resilience Doughnut’ teaches you about the factors and how to use them to learn how to build your resilience.

Our model of resilience introduces you to a language of strengths and solutions that is sustainable for the future

The Resilience Doughnut, developed by clinical psychologist Lyn Worsley, synthesizes decades of resilience research, from understanding health risk behaviors to identifying traits of thriving individuals. This research-validated model, informed by international and Australian strengths-based research, along with the Resilience Report tool, provides a straightforward approach to intervention and ongoing support, promoting emotional resilience and well-being globally across different age groups.
