Hot Topics

The last of  this year's Wednesday Night Hot Topic seminars for the general community, held 7 - 8.30pm will be:

  • 7 November  Winners are Grinners or are they? Exploring problem gambling. Presenter: Mitchell Brown. A very useful topic for those who think someone they know may have a problem and they would like to help them.
  • 21 November  Staying Married- Negotiating the challenges in relationships. Presenter: Lyn Worsley. This one is expected to be very popular so we suggest you book early.
  • 5 December  Emotional Eating - Developing a healthier relationship with food. Presenter: Sylvia Ruocco. A particularly relevant topic with the party/Christmas season coming up.

Whilst we are coming to the end of 2012, we are busy planning our programs and Wednesday Night Hot Topics for 2013. Of course we will be continuing to run our popular programs for children and adults, but we would also be interested in your suggestions for topics or issues you would like to see addressed.
Email robyn@theresiliencecentre.com.au with your suggestions.

Upcoming Programs

12 November  Engaging Adolescents - a 3 week course to help parents learn strategies to manage teenage behaviour, facilitated by Ruth Fordyce. For more details click here

4 February Keeping Love Alive® - a 5 week relationship program for couples facilitated by Clinical Psychologist, Lyn Worsley. This program is for people who want solutions to their relationship dilemmas. It won't drag participants into the past but will offer a blueprint for handling conflict constructively. For more information click here

Next year we will also run a very good early intervention program for 5 - 7 year olds, Get Lost Mr Scary. Through play and stories it addresses common anxieties in young children, such as separation anxiety, social phobias and specific fears, eg fear of the dark, dogs etc.

Dates in 2013 for our popular childrens programs, Connect 3, Bright Thinking and Link3d Up as well as our adult programs, Weigh Up Life and Above the Line will soon appear on our website.

Resilience Doughnut Accredited Training - 19 & 20 November  Due to popular demand this workshop has been moved to a larger venue - The Epping Club, but there are still a few places available. The workshop gives an in depth understanding of the Resilience Doughnut model and how to use it in a range of settings. Click here for more information.
