It has only been a month since our Resilience Centre website was launched, but already so much is happening. We have already run some very popular groups - Weigh Up and Connect 3 group programs, Resilience Doughnut Accredited Training workshops and the Playgroup Association of Queensland’s music therapy group, called Sing & Grow, used our centre for a training day.
We are excited about a series of informal evening seminars which will commence in July and be held every second Wednesday evening at the Resilience Centre.
These “HOT TOPIC” evenings, designed for the general community, will provide psychological insights into challenging life issues and in some cases will be a preview for a longer program or workshop, to be held later in the year.
These Hot Topics will be held regularly, every Wednesday fortnight, 7.00 – 8.30pm. All welcome.
Topics for Term 3 are:

Workshops at the Resilience Centre
Two Resilience Doughnut Accredited Training workshops will be facilitated by Lyn Worsley in term 3. Click here for details
The first will held on 20, 21 August in our Resilience Centre and the second on 10, 11 September. Both workshops are almost full so contact firstname.lastname@example.org if interested to attend. The Resilience Doughnut Accredited Training is for practitioners and professionals who wish to gain a greater depth of understanding of the Resilience Doughnut model and how to use it in a range of settings.
On 12th September, Russell Deal from St Luke's resources will present a one day workshop called "Tools of the Trade" for all teachers, school counsellors, youth workers and psychologists who would like practical, creative resources to further their own practice. This is a wonderful opportunity to have a "hands on " workshop with the guru of these popular resources. It promises to be a wonderful day.
For more information on these workshops, go to www.theresiliencedoughnut.com.au
In addition, psychologist, Julie Crabtree and husband Jeff Crabtree will be running a half day workshop, Living with a Creative Mind in August - click here for more details or check out The Resilience Centre website.
Top Resource of the Month – “Deep Speak”
Recommended by one of our clinical psychologists, Christina Ott –"Deep Speak is a wonderful resource to use both inside and outside the therapy room. Each card holds a question and the questions fall into one of six categories; Beliefs, Values, Openers, Emotions, Relationships and Identity. These questions promote connection and allow for non-confronting 'deeper speak'. These can be particularly useful when trying to connect with a reserved adolescent and the added bonus is that most of them love it!"
Remember to check our website for details of the full range of programs and seminars on offer at The Resilience Centre.
